Big Meeting in Frankford

The parishioners of St. Joachim in Frankford are hosting a presentation from their canon law consultant to talk about the appeals process, developments with their appeal, recent developments in Rome and insights on the future of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia based on Boston’s experience.

Location: St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 4442 Frankford Avenue.
Time: Thursday October 24, 6 PM.

This would be especially important for people in a currently threatened parish. This is an opportunity to learn about the options before the bad news comes.

  1. Thank you for posting this. To be helpful, St. Joachim officially filed the appeal. Our efforts are aimed at reopening one of our Churches in Frankford as both St. Joachim and Mater Dolorosa were closed in our community leaving Frankford without a Catholic Church for the first time in 169 years. Should we be successful in our appeal, we don't know how that would affect the other churches, Mater Dolorosa and St. Joan of Arc that were closed by the same decree. Thank you, again, for your interest and help in "spreading the word" about our meeting. God bless you!

  2. Pat, Thanks for all your work. I think that what the people in Frankford are doing benefits everybody in the Archdiocese. Pointing out what's wrong in this process helps everybody, including the Archbishop. I should have been able to explain the procedural situation myself, but got it wrong, so thanks for the help there too.
